What do you mean by the third place?
The term ‘third place’ is a sociological concept, which combines the comfort and informality of home with the productivity and purpose of an office and is a global trend. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Third_Place)
areatres brings this concepts to life, in a way that suits real and every day working. In addition, we purposefully seek to add the energy created by a diverse community of small and medium businesses, teams and entrepreneurs. This unique combination is reflected throughout areatres, from the space itself (designed by architects Fernando Hitzig and Leonardo Militello), to the choice of technology and the variety of membership types and packages available. This workspace gives digital nomads in Buenos Aires absolute control and flexibility over their working environment.
areatres allows the opportunity to work from of a wide range of work environments (private rooms, desks, comfortable common living areas and meeting/training spaces), thus providing a tailor made workplace solution to each user and their particular needs at any given time. Not only can members adopt these spaces to fit the needs of their working/event requirements, areatres enables users to expand or shrink their work structure in a dynamic, immediate and simple way.
Why the focus on networking?
The bonds and connections between entrepreneurs, freelancers and businesses of all sizes, both local and expatriate are made possible as a result of areatres’ unique and flexible spaces. Through adapting to the specific needs of our clients we seek to create a culture that provides stimulus and energy to all. These links immediately result in social and business-related interaction.
What role does contemporary design play?
areatres is born from not only the present and growing need for flexible workplaces, but also from the reality that the image and environment itself are valued by businesses of all types. Architects Fernando Hitzig and Leonardo Militello (hm arquitectos) have purposefully created a space with exactly this in mind. In areatres you will find yourself in a simple and neutral workspace, flooded with natural light and complimented with contemporary furniture provided by Manifesto.
The carefully selected furnishings form a crucial part of the areatres’ ambience, representing the contemporary idea of living well, and in this case, working well.
The choice of furniture demonstrates our desire to create a space that is very different to the idea of the traditional office. For that reason, in areatres’ design you will find two extremes: the contemporary and the modern classic. These extremes are expressed by the furniture lines created by designers Eames and Saarinen. On the other hand we can also see the presence of Philippe Starck with his well known Bubble, Mademoiselle, Luis Ghost and Price aha lines. Illuminating artifacts provided by Kartell and designed by Ferrucci Laviani lend a glamorous touch to the public spaces. The workspaces designed by Haworth lend the quality, design and comfort necessary for members to feel that they are in a work mode that balances work and image as a whole.
In keeping with our values, the design of areatres has also incorporated ecological materials, low energy consuming illumination, recycled wooden panels, and organic acoustic insulation.
What role does technology play in areatres?
In terms of technology, entrepreneur Martin Frankel motivated by his own experience as a “digital nomad” ensured that areatres was equipped with all of the latest technology.
10 MB broadband symmetric Wi-Fi (compared to the 1 MB normally offered by even the best cyber-café) underpins flexible and mobile working, with wireless printing and projection from anywhere within areatres.
The VOIP telephone system enables all members to have access to local and international numbers, very inexpensive rates on calls and a variety of options for answering and transferring phone calls in a affordable way.
How can areatres save you more than 40% a year?
